Welcome to my new website & blog

Through my research and field work, I get to visit some very cool places. I really enjoy the work and research I am involved in and I hope with this blog to share a bit of that with you. Whether you're another researcher, a student who dreams of this kind of career, or someone who just enjoys reading about these things, I hope you will get something out of this blog. Currently, I am conducting research in the neotropical dry forests of Guanacaste, Costa Rica. My research focuses on how birds are influences by habitat changes in this endangered ecosystem (click on "Current Research" at the top of this page to learn more). I will be returning to Costa Rica for my second field season in April until June. I can't wait to share stories and photos from this upcoming field season!

As a taste of what's to come, here are a few photos from last year's field season in Costa Rica (Fig. 1 & 2). Come back soon as I will be adding some stories and photos from previous field adventures as I start to prepare for the upcoming field season.
